Coast Guard Station and Light House
Text on reverse reads: "Coast Guard Station and Light House at Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal, Door County, Wisconsin." The lighthouse was completed in 1898 but some additional support was needed before it saw light in 1899. The Coast Guard took control of the country's lighthouses in 1939. It was automated in 1972. The site remains an active U.S. Coast Guard Station to this day. |
