Rockford Bagpipe Band at Annual Robert Burns Dinner
A man is carrying a tray with two candlesticks and haggis. Three other men are following wearing uniforms, and two men are playing bagpipes. Caption reads: "Scots showed their own brand of gemuetlichkeit — although they probably wouldn't call it that — at the annual Robert Burns dinner Saturday night at the Plankinton hotel. William Deuchars, 1755 S. Layton blvd., carried in the haggis. With him were members of the Rockford (Ill.) bagpipe band (from left) John Payne, Robert Stormont and Sigurd Aarli. The band played for the diners. Deuchars was chairman of the affair." |
