The Seamen's Memorial Statue

Text on reverse reads: "The Seamen's Memorial Statue, Barker's Island, Superior, WI. Facing the harbor holding a massive cable is the 10 foot tall Seamen's Memorial Statue. After the loss of all 29 hands aboard the Edmund Fitzgerald in 1975, a drive began to erect a memorial to those seamen and to all, living or dead, who have sailed the Great Lakes. Dedicated in 1979, the cast brass statue stands atop a 6 foot marker." A boat is moored in the background on the left, and a seagull is flying overhead in the foreground. |
