Text on front reads: "Trempealeau Wis. on the Great River Road overlooking Lock & Dam No. 6 on the Upper Mississippi." On reverse: "Lock & Dam No. 6, one of a series, was completed in 1936 at a cost of approximately $5,000,000. Built for flood control and to maintain a 9 ft. channel between Trempealeau and St. Paul - Minneapolis. Trempealeau village is nestled in the foreground." Lock and Dam No. 6 became operational in 1936. |
