Railroad Bridge and Boat Landing

Text on front reads: "Railroad Bridge and Boat Landing, Dells of the Wisconsin, Kilbourn City, Wis." A bridge is in the background, which goes over the Wisconsin River. In the foreground are five people in a rowboat Buildings can be seen on the left near the bridge, and a rock formation is on the right. The bridge was built in 1877 as a Whipple deck truss span, replacing a wooden bridge. In 1903, a new bridge was built after it was destroyed by a tornado. Kilbourn City was founded in 1857 by Byron Kilbourn, and the name was changed in 1931 to Wisconsin Dells. |
