Edward P. Allis
Waist-up portrait of Edward Phelps Allis, an industrialist who formed the Edward P. Allis Company in Milwaukee, initially manufacturing milling equipment before expanding to other large-scale capital equipment. Allis became involved in the Greenback Party in the 1870s, and was their candidate for governor in 1877 and 1881. He was also a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
