A handwritten description of the outfit is on the reverse of the photograph. Typed caption on the reverse reads: Helen Ferguson, palying an important role in "Miss Lulu Bett" William deMille's current production for Paramount wearing a new Fall model of black crepe de meteor. The wide flowing sleeves are a pale flesh color and of the same material. A wide band of the black from shoulder to wrist gives a graceful arm line which is accentuated by the buttoning of the sleeve halfway up the arm. The skirt is short, not full and edged with white monkey-fur. A black side panel edged with the same fur and several inches longer than the skirt gives it the necessary "different quality". The hat is of black velvet having a crown and huge bow across the front of heavy Moire ribbon. Stamps for photographer Donald Biddle Keyes and Photoplay Magazine on reverse. |
