Ed Gein lived a solitary life on his family homestead with his brother and domineering mother who instilled in him a belief that sex was a sin. Gein became a grave robber and was suspected of killing several women. In 1957 he was arrested and the news of his crimes was made public with stories in "Life" and "Time" magazines. The movies "Psycho" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" are both based loosely on Gein's life. |
