Herman Anderson

An oval-framed, seated studio portrait of Anderson Herman, a private in Company I, 15th Wisconsin Infantry in uniform, holding a musket across his chest. The following information was obtained from the Regimental and Descriptive Rolls, Volume 20: He resided in Scandinavia, Wisconsin. On November 11, 1861, he enlisted in Scandinavia, Wisconsin and was mustered into service on December 20, 1861, in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 35. In December 1863 he was detached from the company to serve as a baker in Stevenson, Alabama. He survived the war and mustered out with Company I on February 10, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee. |
