View of Milwaukee, from Judge Smith Addition, 5th Ward

From Judge Smith Addition, 5th Ward, looking north, toward the city. Drawing is an elevated view of field and plank fence in foreground, road to the left and steam train to the right (crossing over water?). There is a side paddle steam ship in the harbor, along with sailboats pulled up on land, and a horse on the end of that land spit. Several large buildings are distinguishable, and named with corresponding numbers at the bottom of the image, Horace Chase residence, St. John's Church, Newhall House, Cathedral, Newhall residence, Lockwood's residence, Light house, and Lake shore. |
