Wisconsin State Capitol Fence
Slightly elevated view of the stone gateway at the intersection of Pinckney, Main, and King Streets and the iron fence that surrounded the entire Capitol Park area from 1873 until 1899. This image illustrates the more formal and dignified appearance desired for the park during the later Victorian era. The Vilas House hotel is almost out of the picture on the left. This photograph was distributed by Photographer Isaacs as part of his Lake City Views series. |
