Daniel Steele Durrie, librarian of the Wisconsin Historical Society, seated at his desk in the South Wing of the Wisconsin State Capitol. This photograph was taken by Reuben Gold Thwaites, secretary of the Historical Society, using a Kodak 2 camera format, a few months before Durrie's death. Durrie had been the librarian for 36 years, first under Lyman Draper and then under Thwaites. |
