Wisconsin State Capitol (Third) and Park Trees

Elevated view of the third Wisconsin Capitol as originally constructed. The trees of the Capitol Park are already so large that they largely obscure any view of the Capitol environs. This photograph was taken by Photographer Andreas Dahl from the roof of the Park Hotel on Carroll Street looking toward Lake Mendota, which is in the background. Interesting details include the striped awnings shading the rooms of the History Society then quartered in the old South Wing, and the white stones that outlined the carriage drive in the park. |
