McCormick "Ship of Progress" Advertising Poster

Advertising poster for the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company. Includes color illustrations of a grain binder, mower, reaper and a large steam powered sailing ship. The ship is called the "Ship of Progress" and has a grain binder on the bow. Includes the text "the ship of progress; hail, mighty ship, where'er you dip the billows roll with life anew, as with your weight of reaper freight, you plow the waters through, forevermore, each wave-kissed shore a welcome holds for thee, and all the years shall ring with cheers - the land unto the sea." The poster was printed by Ketterlinus of Chicago, Philadelphia and New York. |
