Wisconsin State Capitol Interior — Supreme Court Detail

Detail of the 1903 group portrait of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, showing Justice Robert G. Siebecker, then the least senior member of the court. Siebecker is sitting at the walnut, Eastlake-design judicial bench beside an ornate lamp. There is a framed portrait of a man on the wall behind him. Siebecker was a law partner of Robert M. La Follette, Sr. as well as La Follette's brother-in-law. He served on the Supreme Court from 1903 to 1922 and as chief justice from 1920 to 1922. |
