Fire at the Wisconsin State Capitol (Second)

Spectators standing at the South Wing during the aftermath of the fire which destroyed the second Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison, February 26-27, 1904. Although the fire appears to be out in this photograph, smoke still obscures the dome. The pathways are littered with tables and chairs and books that have been rescued. |
