Oshkosh Sign

Sign above the main entrance of the Oshkosh Brewing Company, which uses an illustration of Chief Oshkosh as part of its logo. The sign was installed there when the company opened its new plant in May, 1912. The sign was removed when the building was demolished in 1986, and is now in the collections of the Oshkosh Public Museum. This illustration is part of an exhibit about Native Americans created by Paul Vanderbilt, the Wisconsin Historical Society's first curator of photography. |
