Stephen Moulton Babcock (1843-1931), a University of Wisconsin professor and inventor of the Babcock milk fat test was known for his hollyhocks. His papers are held in the manuscript collection of the Wisconsin Historical Society. The image appeared in the August section of the 1949 Wisconsin Historical Calendar. |
