Joe Wisconsin

Joe Wisconsin, the Potowatomi grandson of Sheboygan war chief Pa-mob-a-mee. Wisconsin was born at Sheboygan Falls about 1833 and at about the time of his death was living in Forest County. The photograph was taken in a store in Goodman, Wisconsin. This image is part of an exhibit about Native Americans prepared by Paul Vanderbilt, the Wisconsin Historical Society's first curator of photography. |
