De Pere Depot

At the De Pere depot, the first train operated by the Milwaukee & Northern Railway. This train made its first run to Green Bay on June 25, 1873, and this photograph may well have been taken later that same year. In 1884 the Milwaukee & Northern was incorporated into the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway. It is thought that the engine may be the "Cedarburg," built for the Wisconsin Central in 1871. |
