Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad Train

A commuter train of the Milwaukee, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad, with the tower of Milwaukee's Union Station in the background. The Milwaukee, North Shore & Milwaukee provided high speed service between Chicago and Milwaukee, with hourly departures from both downtown terminals. Service began in 1908, with the high speed service initiated in 1926. At the time this picture was taken the route was in its decline. The railroad ceased operations in 1963. |
