Painting
Civil War Soldier with Wheel

Oil on linen study of a Confederate holding a wagon wheel, created as part of a painting by the Milwaukee panorama painters active during the 1889s. Although unsigned it is probably by F.W. Heine. Previously thought to have been done for a Gettysburg cyclorama, it is now thought to have been intended for paintings of the Atlanta or Missionary Ridge battles. |
