"Prototype" building of York Farm Supply Inc., an International Harvester dealership owned by Charles E. Jacobs. A Farmall Cub tractor is parked in the foreground. This "prototype" dealership building was built as part of International Harvester's "Dealer Base of Operations Program." By February of 1948, 386 dealerships had been built on the prototype plan. Another 617 dealerships were under construction or had been built on a modified prototype plan. Eventually over 1800 such dealerships were built worldwide.
