Ruth Kohler directed her energies to cultural and social-welfare activities in Wisconsin. She was a founder and chairman of the Women's Auxiliary of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, a trustee of Lawrence College and the Layton Art School, director general of the Wisconsin Federation of Women's Clubs, and a director of Kohler Foundation, Inc. She helped direct the restoration of Old Wade House near Sheboygan, served on the governor's commission on human rights, and was active in Republican party organizations. |
