Satterlee Clark

Quarter-length oval portrait of Satterlee Clark. He was born in Washington, D.C., came to Wisconsin in April of 1829, and resided in Green Lake. In 1830, he was appointed by President Andrew Jackson as a trader and relocated to Fort Winnebago, now known as Portage. In March of 1859 he resettled in Horicon. He served in the state Senate from 1862 to 1872, and in the state Assembly in 1873. |
