John F. Potter

Quarter-length oval portrait of John Fox Potter. He was born in Augusta, Maine, on May 11, 1817. Potter came to Wisconsin in 1836 and resided in Potter's Lake, East Troy, Walworth County. He was a Republican member of the Wisconsin state assembly in 1856, a state court judge in Wisconsin, and a U.S. Representative from the Wisconsin 1st District from 1857 until 1863. He died in 1899. |
