Elevated view from the Wisconsin State Capitol looking north to Lake Mendota along Wisconsin Avenue. City Hall is on the left, built in 1858, and the Federal Post Office, right, built in 1869. In the distance can be seen one of Madison's older residential neighborhoods, known as "Big Bug Hill" or "Mansion Hill." The view was made during the construction of the Methodist Church.
