A Steamboat Trip on Fox River in Wisconsin
| Departing from Lake Winnebago, Hölzlhuber boarded the Plymouth, a high, narrow steamboat that was built specially for navigating the narrow and sometimes overgrown Fox River. The steamer accommodated about forty passengers on the two lower decks. The boat stopped three times on the route so that a crew member could row to the bank where rain-proof mailboxes attached to trees held mail from surrounding farms.
