Howard Hughes - aviation-obsessed motion picture producer, millionaire playboy, and aircraft business leader - seated in the cockpit of his airplane after a test flight. In this plane, a Boeing pursuit plane of the Army type, powered with a Wasp-Whitney 580-horsepower engine which he had remodeled to meet his specification, Hughes had already averaged over 225 miles per hour. |
