The Porter family has been in Cooksville since territorial days. In the earlier photograph, reading left to right, are two hired men; Joseph Bacon Porter; Amy Porter Richardson, wife of T.C. Richardson; William Bacon Porter; Helen Porter Richardson, wife of Aleck Richardson; Joseph Joseph Kinnicutte Potter Porter, and a hired girl. Joseph, William, Amy and Helen are all Joseph Porter's children. Note also the brand "I.P." on the left shoulder of the western pony. The home is built on Section 5 T.4. R.11E.
