Tank Cottage

Exterior view of the Tank cottage before restoration on its original site. The cottage was built in 1776 by Joseph Roi, a fur trader, who lived in it until 1805 when it was purchased by Jacques Porlier. Later, the Tank family, who presented Tank Park to the city, lived in it. In recent years, the Brown County Historical Society and the South Side Improvement Association have rescued it from an industrial section of the city and taken it to Tank Park, where it now stands. |
