A diagram of McCormick's cultivator-reaper, which was patented in 1845. The illustration, titled "The Cultivator" depicts a man using a rake to remove the grain from the reaper. A person, perhaps a young boy, is holding a whip while riding on one of the horses pulling the reaper. The parts of the reaper are labeled with letters. Typewritten on negative envelope: "Copied from <u>Walter A. Wood <s>Co.</s> Circular of the Mowing and Reaping Machine Co</u>., 1867, p.24."
