Wisconsin Republican Congressman Thomas Petri and State Senator Walter John Chilsen pose in front of the national christmas tree. The tree came from Northern Wisconsin. Chilsen was a Republican state senator from Wausau, 1967-1991. He was prominent in committee work on aging, agricultural and rural development, health care, consumer credit reform, and University of Wisconsin system merger. He was also a leader of Senate Republican Caucus, 1967-1972. |
