Forest House

The Forest House, a hotel, restaurant and stage office. It was operated by Mr. and Mrs. Chas. A. Dingle and was located on the corner of Third and Forest Streets where Fire Station #1 now stands. The original Forest House, built on the same location, was built in the 1840's but was removed and replaced by the structure shown in the picture in the 1860's. This one was burned in 1878 completely. |
