Kresge Corner

The S.S. Kresge Company building at 25-27 East Main Street. Several businesses, including Rowley & Co., a general store, and S. Klauber dry goods, are in this building. There is a Ladies Oyster Parlor and a billiard hall upstairs. McConnell and Smith, selling books, stationery and music was on the ground floor. Outside, there is a woman in a buggy, at tall striped barber pole, a gas lamp, and high curbing with dirt roads. The building was built by J.C. Fairchild. It was occupied by S.S. Kresge Company located at 27 E. Main Street for many years. |
