Sunflower House
Exterior view of the Sunflower House at 5126 Tomahawk Trail, was designed and built by its first occupant, architect James Dresser in 1952. With a unique domed roof resembling a sunflower, the 40-foot diameter domed home is built of concrete over quonset ribs lined inside with redwood paneling. The lawn sloping towards the windows hides the sidewalls and affords added insulation. The dome is divided into three bedrooms, a bath, living room, and a 10-foot diameter kitchen below a central skylight. |
