On September 9, 1872, Sacred Heart College opened as the University of Our Lady of Sacred Cross. The first enrollment consisted of 27 students. Sacred Heart College continued until 1886 when it was closed as a university and converted to a school for the brothers as well as a preparatory school for young men who aspired to become brothers. |
