Hans C. Heg was a Major in the 4th Wisconsin Militia and became the first Norwegian to be elected to state office when he became State Prison Commissioner of Wisconsin. He also acted as Colonel of the Union Army in the Civil War. He died after he was wounded in battle and is buried in the Norway Lutheran Church Cemetery in Racine County. |
