General Simeon Mills
General Simeon Mills. He was born in Norfolk in Litchfield County, Connecticut, in 1810, and came to Wisconsin in the spring of 1836. Simeon Mills was the last treasurer of the territory in 1848. Mills worked as a banker and served as mayor of Madison in 1851 and 1854. When the first Wisconsin Legislature was organized he was elected the first Senator of Dane County. He died on June 1, 1895. |
