From the book "Threshing Days: The Farm Paintings of Lavern Kammerude". Text by Chester Garthwaite. This scene was painted by Lavern Kammerude (1915-1989), of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, in 1987. The original was commissioned by artist's agent, Gerald Regan, for reproduction purposes, but was too big, so Regan commissioned a shorter but similar piece and sold this to the Wisconsin Folklife Center.
