High School Students War Work
Eight high school students taking a few minutes off from their duties at Oscar Mayer and Company. From left: Kenneth Morrow, East High; Edward Wingen, East High; Bob Ringquist, East High; Floyd Myren, Vocational School; Bob Kirchesh, West High; Richard Schultz, Vocational High; Harold Hannemann, Lodi; Don Wiedemann, East High. These students divide their days between school work and work about town under a work-credit plan devised by the Board of Education, which is considered one of the foremost in the nation. This work-credit program using students was necessary due to the shortage of workers during World War II. |
