Dousman Warehouse
Dousman Warehouse, East Water Street. Originally located on the wharf parallel with the river. Built and used by George and Talbot, brothers of Hercules Dousman, in 1839. They used it until about 1855. |

Written on the (W6) negative envelope, "Dousman Warehouse. Originally stood on wharf parallel with the river at E. Water St. Frame hewn from solid oak. First cargo of wheat, out of Milwaukee shipped from this place. Old Settler's Club." The (W2) negative was copied from a book. Written below the photo, "Dousman Warehouse, Foot E. Water. Originally stood on wharf parallel with the river. Built 1839 and occupied by Geo. Dousman until about 1855. Occupied by John Furlong for a Fish House." The rest of the text was cut off of the foot of the negative. |
