Indian Agency House
The Indian Agency House near the site of Fort Winnebago. Interior view of the parlor. The house served as residence for John and Juliette Kinzie after 1829 when he was appointed as federal Indian agent. She authored the book "Wau-bun," which gives an account of their lives here between 1830-1833. Their portraits are hanging over the mantle. |
