Portage Canal
1885
Steamboats docked in the Portage Canal, which was hand dug beginning in 1849 and completed in 1851. There are industrial buildings on either side of the canal in the background.
Burlingames' House

The home of the Burlingames, possibly belonging either to the parents of Ada Bass or her brother Everett. There is someone outside near the side door.
