Bessie Hooker Grinding Poppy Seeds

With all Hillsboro striving to honor Vice-Admiral March A. Mitscher, who came for a visit with his mother, Bessie Hooker, a maid in the Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hart home, baked him a poppy seed kolache, a favorite Bohemian dish. The poppy seeds were hard to get during the war. |
