Hydraulic Press

Factory worker operating a 500 ton triple-action hydraulic press at Chatham Works. According to the original caption, the second pass has completed the forming of folder sheet-metal canvas-coupler of a harvester-thresher (combine). The final shape is such that the completed part must be pushed off the die by the air cylindar at left of the photograph. The operator is protected by a photo-electric light curtain. |
