Kohler Demonstration Home, 1928-Kitchen
Kitchen in the 1928 demonstration home in Kohler, Wisconsin. The wall, ceiling, and cupboards are painted tan. The chairs, purchased unfinished, were painted tan to match the wall. A green clover-leaf design is painted on the cabinets and the chairs. The handles of the kitchen utensils are also green. Other decorative elements include green rag rugs, green and white checked curtains with crocheted rings and red tie-backs; a red checkered table cloth; corner shelves with green and white checkered ruffles that contains red and green enameled bowls. The sink is a Kohler electric sink. The stove which is not visible is green enamel. This photograph is part of a scrapbook presented to Marie C. Kohler, who was chair of the annual event. |
