Damaged Christopher Columbus Cruise Vessel
Large crowd looking at the damaged Christopher Columbus cruise vessel at dock. Constructed in 1893, the Christopher Columbus was the only passenger-carrying whaleback steamer ever built. Eighteen passengers died when the ship hit a water tower on the bank of the Milwaukee River on June 30th, 1917. |
