Screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, one of the "Hollywood Ten" jailed because of his failure to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) about Communist Party associations. Although blacklisted during the 1950s, Trumbo continued to write under assumed names. His screenplay for "Spartacus," which was written under his own name, is considered by some to be the end of the Hollywood blacklist. |
