Nazis Demonstrate for HUAC

Members of the American Nazi Party demonstrating in behalf of the House Un-American Activities Committee against liberal attempts to abolish the committee. There is irony in this support for HUAC, which began in the 1930s as the Dies Committee whose purpose was to investigate Nazi subversions. The photograph is undated, but it probably dates from the HUAC chairmanship of Francis Walter, 1955-1965. This photograph is part of the records of the National Committee to Abolish HUAC (later the National Committee Against Repressive Legislation), which was formed in 1960. |
